Nouet, Noel, active 1930s and 40s

Nouet, a French citizen, was director of La Maison Franco-Japonaise and a lecturer at Tokyo University. Also a skillful pen and ink artist. Works included Ten Views of Tokyo, 1936, and individual prints Gate of Zojoji Temple and Kikyo Gate of the Emperor’s Palace, 1935, published by Doi.** Taken in whole, or in part, with permission from: Merritt, Helen and Nanako Yamada.
