Born in Tokyo. Given name Dosan. Studied Japanese-style painting with Terazaki Kogyo and Western-style painting at Hakubakai. Graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts. Exhibited at Bunten. Worked for Asahi shinbun in Osaka. Associated with Kitano Tsunetomi in Osaka. Contributed to Pictures of Famous Places in Osaka and Kobe (Hanshin meisho zue), 1916.
