About The Artist
Kiyoshi, Kobayakawa, 1897-1948Born in Hakata, Fukuoka prefecture. Studied with Kaburagi Kiyokata. Exhibited Japanese-style painting with Kyodokai, Teiten, and Seikokai; solo exhibition at Matsuzakaya department store in 1934. In 1930-1931 designed and self-published series of 6 moku-hanga entitled Modern Fashionable Styles (Kindai jisei sho); carved by Takano Shichinosuke and printed by Ono Tomisaburo. Other prints include Revue published by Hasegawa and other modern bijin-ga published by Hasegawa, Watanabe, and Ensendo......
