Austrian watercolor painter. In spring 1915 Watanabe Shozaburo saw an exhibition of Capelari's paintings and, thinking his style suitable to woodblock printing, asked him to provide a design for a print. Both were pleased with the collaboration and continued working together through 1915 producing 12 prints. Watanabe produced another Capelari print in 1918 and another in 1920.
